MAYEL'S 19 Cafe & Dessert on Jalan Genuang in Bandar Seberang offers a laid-back mix of café and casual dining vibes, making it a comfortable spot for both small gatherings and weekend chill-outs. It’s clear the place caters to those who appreciate a blend of local and Western flavors, with menu highlights like Mee Goreng Mamak, Spaghetti Carbonara, and the notably smoky Nasi Goreng Daging Salai giving a taste palette that’s both familiar and a bit adventurous.

The interior strikes a balance between casual and cozy, with enough space that families and groups of friends can settle in without feeling cramped. The decor and spacious layout work well for relaxed dinners or casual catch-ups. Parking is notably convenient here, a practical detail that locals will value, especially during peak evening hours.

People come here expecting straightforward, well-prepared dishes rather than flashy culinary experiments. The smoky notes in dishes like the Nasi Goreng Daging Salai stand out, as does the variety of Western options like Spaghetti Carbonara and Smoked Beef Carbonara, which receive positive nods for their taste and portion size. The variety of side options—curly fries, cheesy wedges, and pop corn chicken—adds to the easygoing dining experience, making it suitable for those who want a hearty meal without too much fuss.

Service tends to be friendly and welcoming, though some visitors find the digital-only menu a minor inconvenience if they prefer to browse through a physical menu while deciding. The overall waiting time is reasonable, even at busier times, which makes it fit for weekend dinners or weekday lunches when you want a no-hassle meal.

The atmosphere leans toward calm and comfortable, without loud music or overwhelming crowds, which means it works well for casual family outings or relaxed dinners with friends. It’s not a place for a quick grab-and-go coffee run but rather somewhere to sit down and enjoy a meal at your own pace. The distance to the restrooms is a small practical consideration, but not a dealbreaker for most visitors.

For those who enjoy a mix of local Malaysian flavors alongside familiar Western dishes in a friendly, approachable setting, MAYEL'S 19 provides solid value and a pleasant atmosphere, especially during off-peak times when the space feels less busy and more laid-back.

Every dish is well prepared and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I had the spaghetti creamy shiitake mushroom and I love it. Its perfect for anyone who loves cheese.

Food presentation and food is okay. Service is okay but having to see the menu knline instead of a physical menu was quite troublesome. Also not many photos to refer to. The interior and exterior is beautiful and quite a good place for family and friends gathering. Parking is also plenty and convenient to access.

Mayel 19 – 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall, a pleasant dining experience. The food quality is good and the taste meets expectations, especially for Western-style dishes. Prices are reasonable for the portion size and café ambience. Waiting time is moderate during peak hours but still acceptable. Parking is convenient, which is a plus. One minor drawback is that the toilet is located quite far from the dining area. Summary: • Price: Reasonable • Taste: Good • Waiting time: Moderate • Parking: Easy • Toilet access: Slightly inconvenient Worth visiting, especially for a casual dinner or café outing.

Worth the money, worth the price, worth the place, polite staff, cozy and calm surrounding. The aglio olio is nice. Very recommended.

Great vibes for a weekend dinner. Really liked the interior and the friendly staff. Price is reasonable too. Food was decent, wanted to try the lamb grill but were unavailable

Everything was good! The staff were humble and friendly. Food was served within a reasonable time, and they always double-check orders with a smile. The place is comfortable — great for family meals, couples, or gatherings with friends. It’s usually crowded, so better to book a table if you’re coming in a group. They serve both local dishes (perfect for Malay taste buds) and Western food, plus good coffee too. Overall, satisfying food and fair prices!
